The Hopewell Center for Perinatal Services currently has the following positions open.
Childbirth Educator
We are looking for a childbirth educator to teach at our Center. Must be certified, or in the process of becoming certified, by a reputable organization (such as Lamaze, CAPPA, ICEA, Advanced Birthing Concepts). Candidates must demonstrate competence in their knowledge and understanding of childbirth from all aspects -- physical and emotional, as experienced by mom and dad, as well as the technical aspects of what is happening inside mom's body during labor. Must be able to teach a bias-free curriculum, giving parents the space to come to their own conclusions without being overly influenced by their instructor's personal views. Curriculum will be provided by the Hopewell Center, with input from the educator. Educator will be hired on an idependent contractor basis.
Labor Doula
The Hopewell Center for Perinatal Services is looking for a labor doula. Must be certified, or in the process of becoming certified, by a reputable organization (such as CAPPA, DONA, ICEA). Doula must demonstrate proficiency in various techniques for helping moms during labor and an understanding of the mechanics of labor, including the phases and stages, and the changing needs and moods of mom and her partner during each phase. Candidates must have a team attitude regarding the staff and care providers in the hospital. Labor doulas are hired on an independent contractor basis.
