Caroline has worked with families and children for many years. After working as a professional nanny for over 5 years, Caroline decided to continue her career in family care as The “Columbus Doula”. 

Caroline is a DONA certified Labor Doula, CAPPA-trained Postpartum Doula, Certified Childbirth Educator (Advanced Birthing Concepts), Certified “Happiest Baby on the Block” educator, Certified Red Cross Instructor and Certified WaterBirth Support Professional.

Caroline's experiences as a labor doula have included a wide variety including unmedicated and medicated; vaginal and cesarean and has assisted clients at most Central Ohio hospitals.  Caroline has experience with a variety of childbirth preparation methods, including HypnoBirthing®, Bradley, and Lamaze.   As a postpartum doula, Caroline specializes in supporting mothers and families with postpartum depression, breast-to-bottle feeding and baby care education.

Caroline is a very active volunteer in the birth and family support community in Central Ohio.   Caroline's mission is to share her passion for family care with expectant and new families, and to empower all families to make informed, educated decisions.

Caroline brings her own personal experience to her clients.  She is a mother of two young children- a boy, whose long and complicated labor ended in a cesarean, and a girl, whose birth was a successful vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).  Both children were born in a Columbus hospital.

Sharon Gourlay BA, C.Ht, HBCE, HBIMI, RMT

Sharon Gourlay holds practitioner certifications in Hypnotherapy, HypnoBirthing®  Childbirth Education, HypnoBirthing®  Infant Massage, and is also a Reiki Master.   Sharon specializes in Hypno-Maternal Services- helping women during the childbearing year. 

Sharon is the only HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator in the Central Ohio region who is also a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.  For the past three years Sharon has taught private classes to women and their partners who are expecting their first baby or are preparing to add another child to their family.  Sharon has also asisted women and their families with fertility, pregnancy, birthing, trauma, and other issues. 

On a personal note,  Sharon is the mother of one angel son, Nikolas, whose premature birth was the result of an incompetent cervix.  She was on bed rest for several weeks in the high risk unit of a local hospital when she gave birth to Niko at 26 weeks.  Her son lived for two weeks and then passed away.  Sharon was able to use hypnosis to grieve, gain the courage to overcome fertility challenges, become pregnant, have cerclage procedures and maintain pregnancies.  She birthed her two beautiful daughters via empowered cesarean sections.
